Old thing, new beginning

Hello.

Once upon a time, a world away from here and now; there was a 20-something girl sitting on her borrowed bed in a cozy house she shared on a rainy November day, who decided to start a blog that she called “handcrafted life”. The title spoke of her deep desire to one day have a life well built, one that didn’t require vacations for escape, one that she knew she wouldn’t craft entirely on her own. She wrote a lot on that blog. Then a whole lot of life happened, a decade passed, the girl became a woman.

That woman now lives happily alone; she is working too much, attempting to eat well, sleep enough, whilst constantly see-sawing between hermitess tendencies and frequently connecting with people, because she knows it’s good for her.

Present day, it is the first week of February 2026. I am the aforementioned girl-turned-woman. Hi, I’m Bethany. It’s nice to meet you. Although, because life is short and I value honesty I have to tell you, I am not writing these posts for you, per se. I do, however, hope we can connect in the common bits, and that I don’t utterly bore you into leaving. I am writing these posts in the hopes that they will be a sort of bread crumb trail back to my own voice. To reconnect with the writer who bears witness behind my eyes.

As such, (should you choose to read and continue on reading), what you will read is my unedited stream of consciousness, for the most part. Good luck and Godspeed.

See? Old thing, New beginning…thank you for holding space and beginning again with me.

-Bethany

I love that little girl who used to sit at the piano, who dreamed dreams and left all her familiars to start brand new in so many ways in a world all her own- I love the young woman who began to flourish in her environment, the one who sent me beautiful songs of worship, shared her heart and her hardships, continued growing where her roots are now planted in this season that rendered winters and spring- and yet here she is blossoming like a beautiful perfect rose- fragrant with the earth she just emerged from- new beginnings, new treasures to find – where deep calls unto deep, drawing her to that place of provision, that place of desperateness for His presence , abandoned to His will alone, this Lover of her soul who beckons her to come away- behind the closed door, where He alone whispers to her heart-and speaks her name- I’m so excited for what is to come for this beautiful writer as she is poured out before her King- no limits as she stands on the shoreline, the sand giving way to her feet- a vast ocean with endless waves of opportunity- this beautiful young woman I call my Neice whom I adore and who I’m so proud of!! I love you and love reading everything you write!!! Your amazing! Keep it going!
